the four compile formats

There are only four Categories of Compile Formats.

Project Formats

(Project Specific) (These are created by duplicating and editing the Scrivener or default formats, or another custom format.) These can be copied and used in other projects or resaved as a My Format Compile Format to be used across all your projects at any time. Project Formats can be saved into Project Templates and used again and again for project specific needs.

My Formats

(These are available across all projects) (They also can be created by duplicating and editing Scrivener or default formats.)

Scrivener (default) Formats

The ones available will change based on your desired output. Default Formats for an Ebook will be different from one for word exports. (You CANNOT directly edit or delete these.)* (Chances are these default formats will give you a decent output out of the box, but they can be duplicated and then tweaked/edited to create a new Custom Format

Default

(This cannot be directly edited or deleted.) This format will try to Compile your project using your current text fonts and appearance. It stitches together your text files as they are, adding no formatting changes, but adding page breaks between folders and adding chapter titles taken from your folder names. This can be duplicated and tweaked to get the result you want as a Custom (Default) Format.
